I’d give them the same advice as the old New Yorker did when a tourist asked her “How do I get to Carnegie Hall?” “Practice, practice, practice!” Read as many test-taking manuals and preparation guides as you can, and do the exercises in them. Take the practice tests in those books, online, and so on. Take as many tests as you can - many are available for free from College Board, American College Testing, and the other standardized test companies. Google (or your preferred search engine) is your friend- search for “free practice [name of test],” and you’ll find plenty of free tests.
