From Quora: My Answer to: "If somebody only learn from public school curriculum, at what grade would they be able to solve the simplest SAT/Gaokao problem?"
Maybe 5th or 6th grade? I took a math SAT when I was in 6th grade (placement for an advanced math program), and scored in the 400s, so I didn’t get ALL the questions wrong. I think some basic arithmetic problems on the SAT could be solved by a 4th grader, but certainly a 5th grader, with only a public school education, should be able to do the simplest arithmetic and geometry problems on the SAT.
