As the other answerers have posted, you can use the official College Board SAT practice tests, available online, as well as the Khan Academy SAT prep videos. Many SAT prep books, including Barron’s SAT, can be obtained from Amazon.com, anywhere in the world. There are also many online prep courses available from many providers, including Tutoring by John Linneball. https://www.quora.com/Do-you-prefer-The-Princeton-Review-or-Barrons-Books/answer/John-Linneball
I prefer the Barron’s SAT book - it provides more detailed analysis of the math, etc., needed for the test, whereas the Princeton SAT books seem to focus more on tricks and not the substantive math. Barron’s is maybe slightly less effective at presenting the “tricks” you can use to solve problems faster, but only very slightly. As far as other subjects are concerned, I don’t know, but generally, I’d go with Barron’s, simply because they don’t run a review course, and thus, have no incentive to withhold any information from their books, whereas Kaplan, Princeton Review, etc. would all rather you pay for prep courses than buy books from them. That’s why I use the Barron’s books with my SAT prep students. https://www.quora.com/The-Harvard-EA-applications-are-due-before-my-Australian-ATAR-results-are-released-Should-I-wait-to-apply-regular-decision-and-include-my-ATAR-or-apply-EA-without-it
Your best bet is to contact the Harvard admissions office and ask them if they’ll accept test scores released after the application deadline, as long as they’re taken before the deadline. Many selective colleges will do that. First of all, don’t apply EA to any school you do not intend to attend if they admit you. That’s the point of EA- you’ll attend if they send you an early decision. But I digress. So let’s assume Harvard is your dream school (which makes sense). Off the top of my head, I’d say you should apply EA, since Harvard doesn’t require the ATAR. It does, however, require you to take the SAT or ACT, and two SAT Subject Tests. As long as you do *that* and get the scores to them before the deadline, you should be fine. I couldn’t find anything on Harvard’s website about whether or not they accept scores taken before the application deadline that come out after the deadline, so you really should just check for yourself. |
